The first thing I noticed about the Grellian homeworld location is there were many black holes nearby, a couple of which can be seen distorting the light from nearby nebulas.

This entire spiral arm has nothing but red stars above the plane of the galaxy, and nothing but yellows stars below the plane of the galaxy! Even with civilizations on the same arm closer to the galactic center, I never noticed such a large scale pattern before. Is it purely random? Intentionally programmed? I have no idea.

This is an absolutely spectacular creature! It was called the "blade ripper" (I think) and I'm glad I got to see this creature model in full glory as an epic. It sliced other epics to death with all the effort of toothpicking an olive!

When I found someone had made a race of tribal, tool-using, realistic looking wolves (from a distance at least) I HAD to uplift them. Actually, this creature model had a strange voice to the point I had to stop to ask what their alignment was (they were warriors (what else!) ) It sounded like high-pitched yip-like words and growls.

It's hard taking pictures of civ phase in spore because its zoomed far out... and things happen fast. This was the beginning of a large war I had to fight against Crimson Nation, a belligerent enemy that refused to trade or negotiate and attacked my biggest ally.

In the civ phase, I stumbed onto a city configuration that was 3x as productive as any other. So I photographed it, studied it, and now make EVERY city like this... no shortage of spice in space phase for me! ~_^

Actually, at this point, I had fought my way to their homeworld... but it's like a rock compared to the colonies. Every time I target a city, a swarm of defense ships piles it onto me. (I understand now why many players resort to terraformers as WMDs.)

Jocardia, the first planet I attempted to terraform. Here it's only half-hospitable. The biosphere ended up alien, even to the Drezzin, but that's water under the bridge after investing several terraformers on it already.

Seriously, T0, in a solar system's outer rim, with only Red Spice for a resource, and geysers cropped up at nearly 2x the usual rate! (In layman's terms, the most dangerous, hardest to terraform, and least worthwhile anyway to as red is the cheapest resource in the game!)

In orbit of the gas giant at last! (This confirms to me that you DO see nearby planets in the sky as early as Creature stage.)
